Experience:
I began exploring my own personal computer when I was 10/11 years old --- which lead to its death. Well, their deaths (two PC in two or three years) due to my excessive curiousness towards the big box that looks like TV but have more functions. Haha. During those times, I love experiencing the ULead software and everything. Which lead me to explore Photoshop when I was studying in Matriculation. I also used Paint software to create some graphics haha. Very ugly yet not that ugly LOL~ I entered my first forum, Komuniti.net where I was totally jealous of some members who have their own self-made avatar. So, I want to create one. And from that time I explored Photoshop....until now. Just because of that. Simple eh? When I entered main campus here, I forgot totally about Photoshopping, plus...I don't have any computer or laptop. When I have one, it doesn't support Photoshop....huhu. So, I played with MySpace, FrontPage 2000. Making websites. Noted that I am major in English Language & Literature, not IT or related.. So, it was a quite tiring yet beneficial to me for the whole semester...kind of hehe. From those experiences, I learnt basic codes and everthing. Only the basic, yeah~
And IDK how Chazzie finds me later on. Well, of course we are of same course and club...but this Photoshop skill is UNKNOWN to people, really. Because I only know some basic function to make graphics (icons & siggies), and it's been ages since I touched PS. And luckily I managed to install CS3 in my lappy (credits to Wahida) and TADA!!! I'm now working my skills to make free graphics to those who have requested from Dorkistic since 2008 (I previously designing using my bos' PC lol~). I still have LOTSSSS to learn and I don't have many experiences in other designing methods, and I still noob in codings. So, I really appreciate those who personally requested from me. I am greatly honoured.
Currently I am working as a shop assistant cum assistant graphic designer at a photo printing shop in center of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It's just a small shop but I like it because I don't really like all prim-and-proper kinda job which needs me to follow certain rules, etc. Here, I am in-charge in printing photos in large scale (as in 17-inches or 24-inches) besides do basic Photoshop-ing e.g.: touch-up people's faces, change the background (for passport usage), adding caption for group photos, etc.; while my workmate in-charge of printing mass photos esp. 8R and below. I like working with her because she's kind. Sometimes, I need to use Adobe Illustrator but only for making the cover for the CDs. Some would kill to have my job. Me? I wish I work here for a long time. It's been.... a year and nine months ....now. I wish that we don't have to work on Saturday but oh well, it's a small shop...whaddaya expect? Storming customers on weekdays? People nowadays don't go develop their photos anymore and just share with others through Facebook, Picasa and such. Huha~
